Boardwalk Communications Comes out on Top in Fast 25

Victoria, British Columbia; September 21, 2006 –Victoria based Boardwalk Communications Ltd. today announced that they have been named the Top Fast- Growing Company on Vancouver Island Under $10 Million in the Fast 25 business awards.

Co-sponsored by the Victoria Times Colonist, KPMG, Atomic Crayon, University of Victoria, and the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, the Fast 25 list recognizes growth in organizations with Head Offices on Vancouver Island. The list identifies the twenty-five fastest growing companies on Vancouver Island taking into consideration both annual revenue and number of employees.

Divided into three revenue categories, under $1 million, under $10 million and over $10 million, Boardwalk came out on top in the under $10 million competition. Asked about the rise of the company, Boardwalk President Philip Stone attributed the success to three factors: “We’ve grown based on three simple factors” said Stone, “excellent employees, plain old fashioned customer service and loyal customers” “While we are a high tech company that promotes such concepts as virtual communication and presence management, our company values rely on people dealing with people.” continued Stone.

The selection process for the awards looked at two factors from the past three years: gross revenues and the number of employees. The judges applied an equal weighting to both these factors, deciding that making a commitment to creating jobs was just as important as creating higher revenues in sustaining the local economy. With offices in Victoria and Vancouver, Boardwalk has seen year over year grow of over 25% for the past three years.
